AUTHENTIC, CREATIVE,
EXPERIMENTAL COMMUNITY
Since 2006, Vintage Fellowship has been serving Northwest Arkansas from Fayetteville. Vintage is defined by four values - authenticity, creativity, experiments, and community. We are striving to be the most authentic church in the world, a place where you can really be yourself. We are creative, often trying out new ideas and practices. We are experimental. It's ok if we fail sometimes; there is always something to learn from that. And we are a community, a group of people loving each other as best we can.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Everyone Is Welcome
When we say “everyone is welcome,” we actually mean it. Vintage is a congregation for anyone. Regardless of your religious background or current spiritual journey, at Vintage you will find a place where you can be yourself. At Vintage, we reject patriarchy and recognize the need for feminine leadership and teaching. We are an open and affirming community where anyone can find a home, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
Worship Style
We are a “come as you are” congregation. In our worship gatherings, you will be invited to participate at your comfort level. We incorporate music, teaching, art, and activities to engage your mind, heart, and body. We celebrate communion every Sunday. But no two worship gatherings are the same.
HOW WE BELIEVE
We think that how you believe is just as important as what you believe. We are trying to be a community where doubts and disagreements are met with grace and acceptance. Most churches make you believe and behave a certain way before you can belong. At Vintage, you can just belong.
We organize our beliefs in three concentric circles. First, there are core, Christian beliefs that have defined historic, orthodox Christian faith throughout the ages and across the globe. In the core circle, we affirm the life-changing impact of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus as found in the inspired and inspiring story of the Bible. Second, there are confessional beliefs that describe a local congregation. For us, we affirm the practices of communion and baptism, as well as women in leadership and the full participation of the LGBTQ community. Third, there are convictions, beliefs about which we acknowledge, and even encourage, disagreement. At Vintage, we’re always asking the question, what can we disagree about and still be a faithful community of love and grace?
EXPERIMENTAL COLLECTIVES
Our small group ministry takes the form of Experimental Collectives, which we lovingly call ExCos. ExCos are designed to give us the opportunity to practice the way of Jesus in a safe and loving environment. These action-oriented groups are experiments. Some work great and others fail miserably. We’re ok with that. Typically, ExCos are short bursts - five or six weeks at a time - focused on living out some aspect of faith - Authenticity, Simplicity, Purpose, Truth, and Community. New rounds of Experimental Collectives get started every few months. You’re invited to participate, whether or not you regularly attend our worship gatherings.
